Hiring Shouldn't Take Over Your Business.
Open positions create more work for everyone. Someone has to post the job, find candidates, review resumes, reach out, screen people, follow up, coordinate interviews, and keep the search moving, usually while doing another full-time job. Bluewater Search Group gives growing companies experienced recruiting support when hiring becomes more work than the team has the time or capacity to handle.
The Real Work
The Job Posting Isn't Usually The Problem.
Most companies can post a job. The harder part is everything that happens after the posting goes live.
- Finding people who are not actively applying.
- Reviewing applicants.
- Reaching out to potential candidates.
- Screening them.
- Following up.
- Coordinating interviews.
- Keeping candidates engaged.
- Making sure the process doesn't stall while everyone inside the company is busy doing their actual jobs.
That is where hiring starts consuming time and searches begin sitting open.
Sound Familiar?
Hiring Starts Costing You Long Before You Pay A Recruiter.
- A position has been sitting open for 30, 45, 60 days or longer.
- HR is recruiting between employee issues, benefits, payroll, compliance, and everything else.
- A department manager is trying to hire while also running the department.
- The company is getting applicants, but very few people worth interviewing.
- Several positions are open and nobody truly owns the searches.
- Interviews happen, but follow-up and decisions take too long.
- Good candidates disappear while the company is trying to coordinate internally.
Leaving a position open doesn't make the problem free. The cost shows up somewhere else: overtime, missed work, lost productivity, frustrated employees, customer impact, management time, and opportunities that don't get pursued.
How It Works
I Take The Recruiting Work Off Your Plate.
The company still chooses whom to interview and hire. Bluewater isn't here to replace the hiring manager or HR team, just to run the search itself, start to finish.
-
1Understand The RoleBluewater learns the position and what the company really needs, and helps sharpen the job description and requirements when necessary.
-
2Find The MarketGoes into the market and identifies potential candidates, rather than waiting for applications to arrive.
-
3RecruitReaches out to people directly instead of simply waiting to see who applies.
-
4ScreenConfirms interest, compensation expectations, schedule and location fit, and core qualifications before anyone's time gets spent on an interview.
-
5IntroduceBrings qualified candidates directly to the hiring manager, ready for next steps.
-
6Keep The Search MovingStays involved in the process and keeps momentum around the search so it doesn't stall.
A Different Model
There Had To Be A Better Way To Hire.
- Traditional recruiting typically revolves around individual searches and placement fees. That model can work, but it isn't always the right fit for a growing company.
- A company may have one difficult opening today, several openings next quarter, or hiring needs that come and go throughout the year.
Bluewater was built around the idea that companies should be able to get experienced recruiting help without immediately building an internal recruiting department or defaulting to the traditional recruiting model every time someone needs to be hired.
Who This Is For
Built For Companies Where Hiring Lands On Someone Else's Desk.
- The company has enough hiring that it matters, but not enough to justify a full internal recruiting team.
- HR owns hiring but has ten other priorities.
- The owner gets pulled into recruiting.
- Operations is trying to fill positions while running the business.
- Department leaders are sourcing and screening candidates themselves.
- Several openings appear at once and the company doesn't have the recruiting bandwidth to work all of them properly.
That is the gap Bluewater fills.
Experience
I've Been On Both Sides Of The Hiring Desk.
Years around hiring, teams, interviewing, management, and people decisions.
Years working professionally in recruiting and search.
Concurrent searches managed at once, across roles and industries.
Levels: recruiting across different industries, geographies, and role levels.

Meet John
Hiring Is In My Blood.
I'm John Carpenter, Founder of Bluewater Search Group.
My mother, Esther Carr, spent more than twenty years building a respected career in executive search. Growing up around the business gave me an early appreciation for the impact the right hire can have on a company, and on someone's life, long before I spent decades hiring, interviewing, managing, recruiting, and building teams myself.
Bluewater came from years of watching companies struggle with the same problem: hiring matters enormously, but the actual recruiting work often gets pushed onto people who don't have the time to own it properly. I wanted to build a more practical way for companies to get experienced recruiting help.
No recruiting factory. No handoffs. You work directly with me.
